History and Cultural Heritage with AI, Visual and Spatial Computing Technologies
History and heritage play a vital role in shaping societies by preserving cultural legacies, informing decision-making, fostering understanding and tolerance, inspiring creativity, and connecting people across time and space. Heritage science, and together with digital approaches used for transforming cultural heritage is at a juncture whereby AI-, and visual- and spatial- computing technologies can further empower not only the communities preserving and researching it, but also act as a bridge from which the public can be engaged, through the democratic adoption and use of generative AI and Metaverse technologies.
